Petition Signing Event!

In staying true to our mission, C4KE, is committed to empower parents and students, and engage the community.  That said, we have recently engaged with The Parents Matter Coalition (PMC) who is made up of Illinois parents concerned with protecting their children.  

PMC has introduced the  Parents Rights Initiative.  This is a signature petition drive to support a Ballot Advisory Question (BAQ) to collect 500,000 signatures to secure a place on the November 2024 General Election Ballot. They will do this when they engage 50,000 volunteer circulators from around the state representing a multitude of organizations all committed to a parent’s right to parent their minor children.

Unlike a ballot referendum question (binding), the BAQ allows a question of public opinion to be placed on the ballot without having to go through the legislative process. While it’s non-binding, it’s the best gauge of public opinion allowing the voices of Illinois voters to be heard. And because Illinois has a Democrat super-majority, this question of public policy would never make out of committee, let alone getting to the Illinois House and Senate floors for a vote if it had to first go through the legislative process.

The Parents Rights Initiative poses a very simple question: 

 Shall the written consent from a minor’s parent or guardian be required before any entity, person, clinic or school can provide a minor (under the age of 18 years) any non-emergency medical procedure, medication, pharmaceutical, or any gender modification procedure, gender identification counseling or gender therapy? 

If the 500,000 signature minimum is met by April of 2024, this question will appear on the ballot of every voter in the state on Election Day.   

In support of this initiative, C4KE will be hosting a petition signing event  on Thursday 2/15/24 from 5-7pm in the lobby of the Rabine Building -
