We as parents should have control of our kids’ educational experience, from what they are being taught to what they are being exposed to.
In D211, the Administration and the majority of our Board continue to take steps to reduce the parent involvement and knowledge of what our students are being taught.
For example, after many requests/attempts through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) process, the new comprehensive sex ed curriculum (starting in 04/23) has not been made accessible to parents and students.
Per US Code, all instructional material shall be available for inspection by the parents or guardians of the children.
C4KE is concerned with all aspects of our kids' educational experience. We've addressed the Board and Administration on everything from academics to sports and clubs to college prep and trades prep.
C4KE has serious concerns about the Board's use of our tax dollars. Frivolous spending (approved by the majority of the Board), lack of accountability and insufficient transparency are things we as community members need to stop.
